ABOUT OUR EDITORS
Jim is best known locally for his bookstore—Publishers Bookshop—in
Little Rock, which, in its day, was the largest privately owned bookstore in
Arkansas. When he reached retirement age in 1994, having no family member
interested in the business, he closed the shop. During the 1980s, Bell wrote
articles on local history and a reference book for central Arkansas entitled,
The Little Rock Handbook. He also held the positions of book
reviewer and, later, editor for a number of regional publications, the most
notable of which was “The Toast of the South,” the official newsletter for
Toastmasters International, District 43. Since retiring, Bell has devoted his
time to writing short stories and novels about ancient Sumeria in the days when
the gods walked upon the face of the Earth. He is married and continues to live
in Little Rock.
Paul
holds
an A.B. and M.A. in English from Providence College, and a Ph.D. in Medieval
Literature from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He has taught
English at SUNY College at Brockport and SUNY College at Geneseo over a period
of sixteen years. Paul has published articles on subjects ranging from Old
English literature to modern detective fiction. He has also conducted television
interviews with acclaimed authors Frederick Pohl, Stephen R. Donaldson, and John
C. Gardner. His short stories have appeared in Santa Barbara Review, and
his short story collection, Cleaning Up the Mess: Stories, was
published by Scrivenery Press in 2001. Paul is Immediate Past President of the
Rochester Chapter of STC. Paul is currently a senior technical writer with Xerox
Corporation.
Em's publications include: Women Philosophers: a Bio-critical Sourcebook. Greenwood Press, 1989, articles in Philosophy and Phenomenological Research and Antique Week, a short story in The Flying Island, poetry in Artful Dodge, Genesis, (winner of the 1980 Genesis poetry award) InPrint, New Earth Review, The Poet, Voices International, Womankind and The Lightning Bell Journal. She has written a number of short stories, which she hopes to publish in online or print magazines. Last year, Em completed her first novel (much in need of revision). She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and three solipsistic cats.

Gerry is a life long writer. He was first published in a Boston newspaper at the age of ten and he’s been at it ever since. He has published fiction and non-fiction in nationally distributed magazines. His interest in writing is too strong to classify as a hobby, although he does enjoy photography and freshwater fishing. His goal is to sell his first novel. He is a graduate of Boston University with a BA in Psychology. He is married (for life), has four children and seven grandchildren. He is semi-retired—employed by Dartmouth College Medical School in the billing and insurance department.
Robert lives in Cheever country, in the suburbs of Westchester County. When not living the life of the gray-flanneled commuter, he writes literary fiction. “Reparations,” a novella, will be published by Scrivenery Press. “The Black Rose,” a vampire story, was recently published in Space and Time.
